Talk about Pastel wedding dreams!! When we think of “dreamy” weddings, we think of cathedral weddings gowns by Oscar de la Renta, gorgeous bridal portraits and exquisite details and florals. We recently had an opportunity to photograph an editorial in Las Vegas at The Doyle that had those EXACT things, including floral creations by Oak and the Owl and styling by Type A Society (who created that incredible pastel pink backdrop).
Generally what we’ve found when it comes to posing our wedding photography is that we think of the situation first… our bride’s personality, the venue we’re at, and the story we’re trying to convey through photography. Is our couple outgoing and fun? Great, we’ll make them laugh and help them be themselves. Are they romantic and quiet? We instruct them to pull in close, touch noses and close their eyes. But the true magic doesn’t just come from the adjustments we make to the couple as we’re shooting, but instead from the relationship we build with our clients. Our clients need to trust us in order to be real in front of the camera. And when they’re being themselves, we get photos that turn into magic and tell the story of the day filled with emotion!
With this particular pastel wedding shoot, it was no different- capturing a story and creating that magic in front of our lens. Combine this with shots of our model Courtney, and we’ve got an editorial wedding to die for.
